Israeli Troops Demolish Homes Near Jericho
Jericho - PNN - On Thursday the Israeli army demolished a number of homes and animal huts belonging to Palestinian farmers near Jericho city in Central Jordan Valley. According to the Jerusalem Center of Legal Aid and Human Rights, on Wednesday the chief lawyer managed to petition the Israeli High Court to stop the demolition orders handed to farmers earlier in the month. Nevertheless, today the Israeli army violated the code order of non-demolition and leveled the farmers’ homes.
According to villagers the Israeli army has started issuing demolition orders on their homes and farmhouses last December. The villagers, along with the Jerusalem Center for Legal Aid and Human Rights, organized opposition to the demolition, which was successfully carried out on Wednesday.
